Yes it really doe work. The quality of this product is very good, just as good as any high end cookware. It really does well on things that need to be cooked for long periods of time. No more watching that pot slowly cook. The way this works is that you bring the inner pot to the heat level need and then put the entire pot in an insulating container (out side white part) and let it cook on its own. It will save you time and energy. I was able to cook a dish that took me 4 hours on the stove on medium heat in an All-Clad pot in just 1/2 hour on the stove and an additional 6 hours in its insulating container. The contents were still warm when I opened it up.

This means more nutrition and more flavor. Kuhn Rikon Hotpan Thermal Cookware combines superb functionality with precision Swiss design. The mirror-polished stainless cooking pans have a think aluminum sandwich bottom for fast and even heat distribution. The lids snug into the wide pot rim and are double-walled for increased heat insulation. On the inside, lids are lower in the middle than around the edge. This design forces condensation from cooking foods to gather and fall from the center of the lid back into the pan instead of escaping from around the rim. The stay cool high-heat resistant handles don't take up room on the stove. Hotpan's brightly colored serving holder of high quality, scratch resistant melamine acts as a thermal blanket, retaining heat.
